Karen R. Nussbaum has been a member of the William Ferris Chorale since 2001. She is employed as a soprano soloist and section leader at the Chicago Temple (First United Methodist Church) in the Loop, where she also plays cello in the string ensemble. Other ensembles with which she has sung or is singing include Aestas Consort, Apollo Chorus, common pulse, Grant Park Chorus, Lark Ensemble, Peninsula Music Festival, and Vox3 Collective. Karen is a frequent recitalist and recently premiered “A Thousand Prayers,” a song cycle by Gwyneth Walker. She continues her study of voice in the studio of Maria Lagios.
