A Stiller Day

Carling FitzSimmons returns as guest conductor to present "A Stiller Day: Songs of War and Peace." Featuring Stacey Garrop's dramatic Sonnets of War and Mankind and Pawel Lukaszewski's stunning Two Lenten Motets, this program explores humanity's time-worn dance of conflict and resolution, push and pull, struggle and resolve. We continue to explore how to live together in one time and place, drawing distinctions while searching for a place of our own.

20 voices perform this unaccompanied program highlighting the work of Frank Ticheli, Alice Parker, Rollo Dilworth, Elizabeth Alexander, and more,  along with a new commission for this concert by American composer Victoria Malawey.
