I wonder, I wander

Join the William Ferris Chorale as we examine what it means to wander and wonder this holiday season. Much of the past three years has felt like wandering in a wilderness — fear and the unknown have permeated our lives.

Shara Nova’s extraordinary three movement work Carols After A Plague responds directly to these feelings, exploring and reacting to the unrest and disease felt in the heart of the pandemic. Additional works speak to the collective moments of isolation our communities suffered.

We conclude with David Lang’s Pulitzer-Prize winning work The Little Match Girl Passion. In a season full of connection and also absence, this work reminds us of how important connection and care for those around us is through the Hans Christian Andersen story of the Little Match Girl.
